The Danger of making police scapegoats for larger racial problems

Cra pulled over by police for a ticket. The inner-city culture which promotes the social dissolution that results in crime has been written about for many years by respected black observers.

Allan Brownfeld Global News Centre

(WASHINGTON DC)   The attacks upon police for “racism” have been mounting as a result of the killings of black men in Ferguson, Missouri, Staten Island and elsewhere.  Many with a history of demagoguery when it comes to questions of race relations, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton among them, have done their best to keep this issue alive.  Sadly, they have cast more heat than light on a question which is far more complex than their self-serving analysis would lead Americans to believe.

Recently, FBI director James Comey addressed this question.  At the outset, he declared certain “hard truths,” including the fact that the history of law enforcement has been tied to enforcing slavery, segregation and other forms of discrimination.  “One reason we cannot forget our law enforcement legacy,” he said, “is that the people we serve and protect cannot forget it, either.”

Why does U.S. Senate allow antics during hearings with total disregard for the prescription opioid/heroin epidemic?

Hey Steinberg, why no yoga matt on Facebook?

Hey Steinberg, why no yoga matt on Facebook?

Shame on Congress for allowing so-called “pain advocate” to lay on Senate floor while giving testimony,,,

Marianne Skolek Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) I recently was made aware by families who have lost loved ones to addiction and death in the prescription opioid/heroin epidemic that a woman was climbing the steps of the Senate in Washington, DC and Massachusetts carrying a yoga mat under her arm.  She was there to testify at hearings on issues relating to the epidemic — she as an advocate for pain patients to not be denied their opioids.

Why the yoga mat though?  Well it seems the senators conducting the hearings allow her to lay on the Senate floor on her yoga mat and testify using a hand held microphone because in the 1990’s, she sustained an injury.  Bizarre?  No it is shame on the senators during these legislative hearings in allowing this disrespect for the tens of thousands of families who suffer pain in the loss of loved ones — and they do not use theatrics in total disrespect for the Senate and this health crisis.

Terrorism: ultimate weapon of the global elite

terrorism-madeFear is the opposite of love. If you want someone to do what you want, you are frightened, not loving. The poets and songwriters have long told us that love is ‘letting go’. The person in your cage is not a loved companion; the individual who is genuinely free but chooses to stay feels loved.

Robert J. Burrowes Global News Centre

(TASMANIA)  The usual definition of a ‘terrorist’ is simple: a person who uses violence in the pursuit of a political objective.

By this definition, the two major categories of terrorist are those political leaders who perpetrate state terror by attacking other countries (ranging from launching a war, perhaps following a false flag operation, to conducting a drone strike) – see the classic book ‘The Real Terror Network: Terrorism in Fact and Propaganda’ http://www.amazon.com/The-Real-Terror-Network-Propaganda/dp/0896081346 – and those political leaders who use military violence in defense of a political objective. For insight into the damaged psychology of violent political leaders, see ‘Understanding Obama and other People Who Kill’ http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL1305/S00051/understanding-obama-and-other-people-who-kill.htm For much greater detail, see ‘Why Violence?’ http://tinyurl.com/whyviolence

Murders leave Muslims stunned and shocked…

International Business Times

(CHAPEL HILL)   The Palestinian government has demanded its investigators are included in a probe into the killing of three Palestinian Americans in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in an attack it described as “terrorism”.

US police have charged Craig Seymour Hicks with the murder of his neighbours Deah Barakat, 23, Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, his wife, and her sister Razan Abu-Salha, 19, and said they were killed following a dispute over parking.

However, FBI investigators are also examining whether their Muslim faith played a role in Hicks’ motivation.

Ceylon Today: President dismayed

tamil-genomust thank the Chief Minister, Hon. Wigneswaran and the NPC Councillors for breaking the bond of servitude and and daring to pass this Genocide Resolution unanimously.

Visvanathan for Global News Centre

(CHENNAI)  Ceylon Today has reported that President Sirisena was dismayed by the Resolution on Genocide passed by the Northern Provincial Council (NPC). He claimed that the NPC had exceeded its powers by passing the resolution. The NPC was set up under the 13th Amendment to enslave the Tamils. The so called devolution of powers to the provinces was meant for the Tamils to accept whatever the Sinhalese government gave them without questioning; but the Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. Wigneswaran, has demanded the Internationally Recognised Legitimate Rights of the Tamil Nation, which the duo,Mr. Sambanthan and Mr. Sumanthiran dare not raise and would not allow anyone else to do so.

Good morning America, Bibi is coming to town

Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu

Even strong pro-Israel outlets like Fox News, and Liberal Zionist media outlets like MSNBC, are urging Netanyahu to cancel his March 3 moment in the world media spotlight.

Dr. James Wall Global News Centre

(CHICAGO)  Good Morning America: Do you know who has stolen your Congress? In two weeks you could hear from one of the culprits.

On March 3, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak to what was once your United States Congress.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will speak to the Congress and tell the members that President Obama is wrong. Netanyahu promises to say the President is wrong to think it is possible to negotiate Iran back from the brink of adding further to the world’s nuclear arsenal.

Right-to-Work laws contributing to vanishing middle class, wealth inequailty

Twenty-four states have enacted right-to-work laws.

Twenty-four states have enacted right-to-work laws.

“…worker friendly [non-right-to-work] states are significantly healthier, are more productive, have less poverty, and with citizens who enjoy longer life spans. In four of the seven measures (GDP per capita, poverty, insurance and life expectancy rates) so-called ‘right-to-work’ states come out significantly (and statistically) worse.” – Study

(SAN FRANCISCO) Much has been made about the shrinking middle class in the United States where the wealthiest 160,000 families own as much as the poorest 145 million families.  Income inequality is the gap in how much individuals earn from the work they do and the investments they make. Wealth inequality measures the difference in how much money and other assets individuals have accumulated. One of the contributing causes of wealth inequality is the labor movement’s diminished economic and political clout, as seen in the movement by states to enact right-to-work laws.

Thanks to collective bargaining, union members have higher wages and better benefits.  In addition, union membership actually raises living and working standards for all working men and women, union and non-union. When union membership rates are high, so is the share of income that goes to the middle class. When those rates fall, income inequality grows and the middle class shrinks.

This week we lost several friends and neighbors and we mourned atrocities committed in the US, Syria and Iraq.

(BETHLEHEM)   Life rolls on not in any monotony but in the crazy waves of ups and downs and scenarios reminiscent of ancient Greek tragedies.  We take the punches, resist the evil acts of some, act to help where we can, accept the things we cannot change and try to change those we can.  That is life.
