This past week U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) announced his retirement from the Senate at 83 years old.

(MYRTLE BEACH) Before Mr. Hatch attends his retirement party as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, maybe some vital matters should be addressed.  Hatch was a member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee in 2012 when an investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic was launched naming several pharmaceutical companies as well as The American Pain Foundation, The American Academy of Pain Medicine and The American Pain Society, as well as several physicians.  Two of the physicians named in the investigation were Perry Fine, MD and Lynn Webster, MD both from Utah.  I am calling for Hatch to be charged with obstruction of justice and named as a defendant in the many lawsuits filed throughout the country against pharmaceutical companies such as Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin.  My call for Orrin Hatch to be brought into legal action is based on the following information as regards the investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic addicting and killing in the tens of thousands:

Lynn R. Webster, MD sets standard for DEA investigations

(MYRTLE BEACH) In 2013, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) launched an investigation of then-president-elect of the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) Lynn R. Webster, MD, related to overdose deaths at Webster’s Lifetree Pain Clinic in Salt Lake City. It was alleged there were up to 100 deaths at Webster’s clinic which was raided by the DEA.  Webster attributed the deaths to “suicide” and the pain clinic closed its doors.  The U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah declined to pursue charges, effectively ending the DEA investigation.  US Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) was rumored to be the force behind charges being dropped against Webster.

Attorneys are becoming the heroes in the prescription opioid epidemic ravaging the US!

Is it an injustice that in 2007, Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin was charged in federal court and pleaded guilty to criminally marketing their dangerous and highly addictive opioid yet there were no arrests?

(MYRTLE BEACH)  Last month, “CBS 60 Minutes” and “The Washington Post” did an explosive expose on a former Drug Enforcement Agency official whistle blower, Joe Rannazzisi — who was brave beyond words to expose political wrongdoings fueling the prescription opioid epidemic.   Here is the link to “The Washington Post” article https://lnkd.in/dcqtrrU.  Rannazzisi wears several hats — former DEA official, pharmacist and attorney.

Gov. Christie’s Opioid Commission and the Nation’s Biggest Nightmare – J. David Haddox, MD, DDS

CaptureHow many lives could have been saved?

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH)  This should scare anyone involved in the prescription opioid/heroin epidemic. J. David Haddox, MD, DDS is the “gate keeper” at Purdue Pharma and successfully downplayed the dangers of OxyContin in the late 1990’s. Haddox “coined” a word “pseudo-addiction” without scientific data.  The definition of Haddox’s word “pseudo-addiction” is A drug-seeking behavior that simulates true addiction, which occurs in patients with pain who are receiving inadequate pain medication. So Haddox’s message to the medical profession was “more” is appropriate when treating patients with dangerous narcotics — and the medical profession bought it. In the meantime, Haddox’s employer, Purdue Pharma made billions of dollars in the sale of their drug OxyContin — as lives were ended.

Caught you US Senator Orrin Hatch! Release the Opioid Report Now !

Orrin Hatch

Senator (R-UT) Orrin Hatch

Mr. Hatch — it’s called obstruction of justice and I will continue reporting on you until the US Senate Finance Committee investigation on prescription opioids is made public.

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) In the 15 years I have been reporting on the prescription opioid epidemic, it has in some ways been frustrating to be a forerunner in exposing the criminal activity of pharma, the FDA, politicians, physicians, pain foundations and organizations profiting from the surging death and addiction rates — while US Senator Orrin Hatch is allowed to obstruct justice.

Why Tom Marino won’t be confirmed as Drug Czar by the U.S. Senate

Tom Marino

Tom Marino

Marino’s support of Trump in 2016 presidential election may have played into his appointment by the President as Drug Czar

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) President Trump announced that he was nominating Rep. Tom Marino (R) of Pennsylvania to head the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the second time. Marino had cited personal reasons for turning down the prestigious position several months ago. His personal reasons “resolved” themselves and Marino was appointed for a second time by Trump. That appointment is now in the U.S. Senate for confirmation.

Purdue Pharma has another “killer” surprise for America — addicting 7 to 16 year olds!

butransThere is little outrage from the public in Purdue Pharma targeting children as young as 7 years old with yet another Holocaust of death in an FDA approved opioid.

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH)  On September 14, the FDA Advisory Committee will be holding a hearing on Purdue Pharma’s new “blockbuster” opioid called Butrans.  It is targeted for severe pain in children ages 7 to 16 years old.  There is not a doubt in my mind that once the FDA approves this latest killer opioid presented by Purdue Pharma, it will be off-labeled marketed as OxyContin was for all pain levels.  This time though children are the guinea pigs and Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sacklers will in all probability double their profits.

President Trump nominating Rep. Tom Marino, PA (again) for “drug czar” is a disservice to America!

Hopefully Mr. Trump will not allow the “alligator” with financial ties to the pharmaceutical industry to become “drug czar” while Marino thumbs his nose at the DEA and the families suffering the loss of loved ones to an out of control prescription opioid/heroin epidemic.

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH)  President Donald Trump announced that he intends to nominate Rep. Tom Marino (R) of Pennsylvania to head the Office of National Drug Control Policy — second time for nomination.  Marino has been a longtime supporter of the president — so much so that Trump nominated Marino back in the spring for the same position — drug czar.  Marino withdrew his name in May because of “family issues.”

The “Dumbing Down” of America in the Prescription Opioid Epidemic!

dumbWhy “International Overdose Awareness Day” is dangerous and a deflection on attacking the epidemic from the root of the crisis — at the top!  The top is the FDA and the flooding of our country with dangerous prescription opioids!

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) Social media is alive with the promotion of “International Overdose Awareness Day” on August 31 and a march in Washington, DC as well as events taking place throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Who wears “white hats” and who wears “black hats” as the prescription opioid epidemic soars in addictions and deaths?

BlackHat_WhiteHat_SEOIn June 2017 a company called Proove Biosciences located in Irvine, California was raided by the FBI as part of a fraud investigation.

(MYRTLE BEACH) For those wondering why the prescription opioid/heroin destruction of human life surges out of control every day, you may want to consider this information published in the news relating to the wearers of “white hats” or “black hats”.  Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

FLASHBACK: Is Senator Joe Manchin of WV a “hero” or a “hypocrite” in the prescription opioid epidemic?

Previously published articles by Marianne Skolek Perez regarding the prescription opioid epidemic and why it has raged out of control.  An article will be published “weekly” in an effort to educate people as to why the deaths to this epidemic continue in record numbers.  The weekly series will be entitled “Wake Up America – Why we are losing more lives in the prescription opioid epidemic!”

Manchin’s state, West Virginia, has the highest rate of overdose deaths in the country

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) Last week I received an email from a mother who lost her child to the prescription opioid/heroin health crisis crippling every state in the country.  The email read “I hope to get an appointment to see Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia when I visit Washington, DC — I think he gets it.”  But does Manchin “get it” in the sense this mother thinks?
