This past week U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) announced his retirement from the Senate at 83 years old.

(MYRTLE BEACH) Before Mr. Hatch attends his retirement party as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, maybe some vital matters should be addressed.  Hatch was a member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee in 2012 when an investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic was launched naming several pharmaceutical companies as well as The American Pain Foundation, The American Academy of Pain Medicine and The American Pain Society, as well as several physicians.  Two of the physicians named in the investigation were Perry Fine, MD and Lynn Webster, MD both from Utah.  I am calling for Hatch to be charged with obstruction of justice and named as a defendant in the many lawsuits filed throughout the country against pharmaceutical companies such as Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin.  My call for Orrin Hatch to be brought into legal action is based on the following information as regards the investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic addicting and killing in the tens of thousands:

Attorneys are becoming the heroes in the prescription opioid epidemic ravaging the US!

Rick Hollawell

Rick Hollawell represents a family in N.J. whose daughter Sarah Fuller died in 2016 at the age of 32 as a result of being prescribed Subsys (fentanyl).

Is it an injustice that in 2007, Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin was charged in federal court and pleaded guilty to criminally marketing their dangerous and highly addictive opioid yet there were no arrests?

(MYRTLE BEACH)  Last month, “CBS 60 Minutes” and “The Washington Post” did an explosive expose on a former Drug Enforcement Agency official whistle blower, Joe Rannazzisi — who was brave beyond words to expose political wrongdoings fueling the prescription opioid epidemic.   Here is the link to “The Washington Post” article https://lnkd.in/dcqtrrU.  Rannazzisi wears several hats — former DEA official, pharmacist and attorney.

Why Tom Marino won’t be confirmed as Drug Czar by the U.S. Senate

Marino’s support of Trump in 2016 presidential election may have played into his appointment by the President as Drug Czar

Marianne Skolek-Perez Global News Centre

(MYRTLE BEACH) President Trump announced that he was nominating Rep. Tom Marino (R) of Pennsylvania to head the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the second time. Marino had cited personal reasons for turning down the prestigious position several months ago. His personal reasons “resolved” themselves and Marino was appointed for a second time by Trump. That appointment is now in the U.S. Senate for confirmation.

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy was not “facing addiction” in his bogus report!

Photo ops with a Surgeon General exposed for a bogus report will do nothing to slow down the deaths to prescription opioid “addiction” — and yes that is the disease killing your kids.

(MYRTLE BEACH) Recently President Trump relieved the Surgeon General of his prestigious position within the administration.  Many supporters of Dr. Murthy were unhappy with Trump’s decision.  After all a report had been issued entitled “Facing Addiction in America – The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health”.  Considering that the Obama administration all but ignored the massive prescription opioid epidemic in the country, Murthy actually issuing a report was monumental.  So too was the length of the report — approximately 500 pages.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri and her sordid investigation!

(MYRTLE BEACH)   Someone may want to inform Senator Claire McCaskill that her recent call for an investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic was already launched by the U.S. Finance Committee in 2012 and as of 2017 there is still no report.  So why would McCaskill demand action on an epidemic killing in the thousands every year when she is aware the waters are not unchartered?  Let me try to enlighten those people, including McCaskill, why not everyone is buying what she is selling.

Is the U.S. Senate responsible for thousands of deaths in sealing their fact finding report on drug epidemic?

How many lives could have been saved — especially our young people if in 2007 Patrick Leahy had replied to me “We are taking this epidemic seriously and are launching an investigation to stem the loss of life to addiction and death.”

(MYRTLE BEACH)  On May 9, 2012 the U.S. Senate Finance Committee announced an investigation into the prescription opioid epidemic waging a war of addiction and death throughout the U.S.  Their investigation was to be focused on the American Pain Foundation (they closed their doors when the investigation was announced), the Center for Practical Bioethics, and five other organizations. It also targeted three leading opioid makers: Purdue Pharma (OxyContin), Endo Pharmaceuticals (Percocet), and Johnson & Johnson (Duragesic). The Senate Finance Committee demanded to see documents and get answers to their questions.

George Soros, Evil Destroyer of US and his contribution to “Partnership for Drug Free Kids” and “Facing Addiction” – non-profit organizations!

partnershipwinterwishgala2016With the death toll and addiction rates soaring in every state in the country, could someone explain why a gala was held celebrating the out of control  prescription drug/heroin epidemic as the body bags of our young people mount?

(MYRTLE BEACH)  The New York Times once described Hungarian born multi-billionaire, George Soros as the single largest donor to use his philanthropy to change or deconstruct the moral values and attitudes particularly of the American people — and legalize illegal/recreational drugs.

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, MD recently released an almost 500 page report on the prescription opioid/heroin epidemic.  The title of the report is “Facing Addiction in America – The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs and Health.”  Find it interesting that the title would read “Facing Addiction?”  I did.

We are fighting a Tsunami of addiction and deaths throughout the country. Any politicians giving free reign for pill mills to flourish and tie the hands of the DEA need congressional resources to investigate their ability to profit financially.

(MYRTLE BEACH)   On October 19, 2014 I wrote an article for Global News Centre and Salem-News.com entitled “Congressman Tom Marino (PA) and Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (TN) “prescribe” Walgreens be unaccountable for errors in loss of lives …. Why?” A link to both articles regarding a bill they sponsored HR 4709 is shown below.

(MYRTLE BEACH)  On September 15 and 16, I attended an FDA meeting to discuss the appropriate development plans for establishing the safety and efficacy of prescription opioid analgesics for pediatric patients.  On September 15, the day was filled with physicians giving their “expert” opinions on neonatals and newborns being given opioids for pain — after all they feel the pain of “needle sticks”.  One expert said the discussion was like “elephants in a room”.  I describe it as “egos in a room” and there were many of them.

Opioids for Pediatric Patients – “How could you get it so wrong?”

(MYRTLE BEACH)   Last Thursday and Friday I attended an FDA meeting of the Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee, the Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee and the Pediatric Advisory Committee. The purpose of the two day meetings was to discuss prescription opioid analgesics for pediatric patients. The FDA experts and their egos were in plentiful supply as they fell over each other condoning opioids for pediatric patients. Unfortunately the audience in the large auditorium was sparsely attended — no Partnership for a Drug Free Kids and no advocacy organizations.

Douglas Throckmorton, MD, Deputy Director of FDA – I expect an apology!

Since the FDA has sat back and approved prescription opioids in record numbers (more than any other country in the world), we can anticipate children being used as pawns by the FDA as they are fed opioids by pharma

(MYRTLE BEACH)  >On August 31 (with 45 minutes) notice, I was asked to participate in a “stakeholders” teleconference with Douglas Throckmorton, M.D., Deputy Director for regulatory programs in FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) to discuss the “FDA’s strongest box warning on opioids”.  One of Dr. Throckmorton’s responsibilities at the FDA is ensuring that the benefits of approved drugs outweigh their known risks. >
